A great club for 5th and 6th grade students who love to read. Students compete in teams of 2-3 members and participate in three campus battles where teams are awarded points for their accuracy in answering questions about four books related to each battle. The campus winner then participates in a district battle. The students who participate read twelve different books as members of the club.
Students learn about leadership and community service. The group hosts fundraiser events such as movie nights and car washes. This year the group proudly represented the school by marching in the Gilbert Days Parade, coordinating a food drive at Thanksgiving, and packing meals at Feed My Starving Children.
Students learning about the ocean ecosystem. Members of the club do a research project on an ocean animal and the club takes an annual trip to San Diego led by Project Exploration. Students' learning activities include a floating lab and a behind the scenes tour at Sea World.
